This shouldnt happen as much as it does.

Warning!

Rant Level: Red exceeded!

I’ve been noticing quite the increase in games where picking up weapons and other items have become a major part of playing the game.
Of course this means I’m going to pick this system to shreds as much as I possibly can.

Is this really what we should be thinking about now?

Admin note: Turns out I was an idiot and bought a different hosting server, instead of just upgrading the current account.

It’s that time again!  Time when everyone breaks out their mudslinging gear and participates in the largest Yo Momma contest ever.  A time when true issues are tossed aside for a direct and underhanded attack on others.  That’s right, it’s election season!

Now, I have my own political views that are really no concern to anyone else, and I’m not in the mind to get into a debate about which candidate is better.  I will say this, though: it’s about the candidate, not the party.  Please don’t vote for the party; actually research the choices and make your decision from there.  That’s not an attack against Obama. That’s a problem this nation has been falling into for the past 16 years or more, and, in my opinion, the reason why the country is so fucked up right now.

In case you’re wondering why I’m on a political spiel at the moment, it’s because of this.  Once again, playing Video Games is apparently a bad thing.  Can we move past this, please?  Granted, this is the Maricopa County District 11 Supervisor race (wherever the hell that is [Phoenix 4tw -Ed.]), but why bring this up?

The only rational reason, at least that I can see, is that according to Mr. Ed Hermes, “I…play almost every night.”  Which means it could possibly take focus away from his supervisor duties.  However, is it that much of a stretch to think that this is not the reason this little blurb made it onto these flyers? Playing games like Halo, GTA, “insert name of violent game here” does not automatically make you a bad person, unless you already are one or really have no moral fiber in you.

Politicians, get your heads out of your asses and realize this is not the issue…at all.  Video games are not causing the Stock Market to crash.  Video games are not sending our troops to fight a pointless war.  Video games are not causing hunger, disease, bad health care, or any of the real issues at stake here.  The only thing it has a notion of even helping is bad parenting.  And I mean helping, not causing.

You know someone who grew up on video games.  It’s a pretty safe bet that their parents were there playing with them (at least mine were).  It’s a safe bet that all the non-nutcases out there were actually taught that these are FANTASY, and should have no carryover to your real life.

Unfortunately, it’s an easy target. There are people out there who are not part of the choir I’m preaching to who will believe it, will always believe it.  How do we stop them?  Your guess is as good as mine.  What I do know is that if I lived in District 11 of Maricopa County, I’d be voting for Hermes.  It would be awesome to say I have the Gamertag of a politician.
